LED Light Color Temperature – Lighting Temperature Guide. The LED lighting is a new revelation in electronics these days. The LED lights are energy efficient, having long durability and available in different varieties and innovative shapes. The quality of LED light color temperature is an important feature. LED light color temperature lets us know what the look and feel of the light will produce (ambiance). The color temperature is measured in Kelvin. An understanding of Kelvin temperature (unit ‘K’) makes it easier for us to choose right lighting that you want.

As Brightness color is also the important feature. There are three different variations of LED light color temperature is available- warm white, pure white and cool white.

LED Light Color Temperature scale vary from 3000 k to 6000 k. Warm white is registered at the bottom of the scale and cool white at the top of the scale. Higher the Kelvin number better is the daylight.

For example, when a metal object is heated, the object appears to glow. Depending upon the temperature the object will glow in various colors, such as starting from orange, yellow to blue. The color temperature of LED bulbs is due to Kelvin temperature of the metal object.

Warm White (up to 3000 K): This is orange to yellow-white in appearance. It gives cozy, calm and inviting ambiance.  This is good for reading room lighting family rooms, dining areas, and bedrooms.

Pure White (4500 K) – This is bright and crisp white in nature. This is good for living rooms, workplaces, offices, garages, and basements etc.

Cool White (6000 K) – This is lucid, intense, and it is slightly bluish white in nature. This is good for kitchens and utility rooms. This is used for outdoor lighting, commercial, retail spaces, security lighting etc.

One can use the above ranges and color descriptions as a general guide for buying LED lights for use as per requirements.
